AFTERCARE
IF SECOND SKIN WAS APPLIED
Remove cover after 2-3 days. Immediately wash with warm soapy water. Use a mild, non-medicated soap. Medium/large tattoos can often expel ink, plasma and sweat which may collect beneath the cover creating an ink sack. This is completely normal and nothing to be concerned about. If however, this becomes irritating at all, just remove the covering early. It is recommended to always remove second skin under gentle running water in order to loosen the sticky adhesive. Pull up and away from the body.

IF CLING FILM WAS APPLIED
On the evening of the day you get your tattoo, remove the cling film. There will most likely be ink/plasma/blood and sweat build up, this is completely normal so do not be alarmed. Proceed to wash with mild, non-medicated soap, pat dry gently with kitchen roll. At this point, I would recommend reapplying fresh cling film for the first night in order to prevent any leakage onto bed sheets. Remove cling film in the morning.

AFTER COVERING HAS BEEN REMOVED
It is important to maintain a cleaning routine in order to aid healing and avoid infection. Always wash your hands before handling your tattoo, treat it with care as you would any open wound. Wash and moisturise twice daily (morning/evening) for three weeks. When applying moisturiser, ensure that it is a thin layer as you do not want to saturate the pours. Thoroughly rubbed in, there should be no visible moisturiser on the skins surface. I always recommend coco butter but if you have a natural moisturiser that your body is already used to, feel free to use this. Avoid anything too heavily scented or medicated.

STAGES OF HEALING
Approximately 3-7 days into the healing process your tattoo will begin to peel. It will shed the top layer of tattooed skin and may peel the way a sunburn peels. This is totally normal and to ensure good healing it is imperative that you do not pick or scratch the tattoo. Picking your tattoo can result in prolonged healing, pigment loss and infection.
To alleviate any itching, just pat the area.

WHAT TO AVOID
- Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight for a minimum of 1 month. After your tattoo is fully healed, apply factor 30+ sunscreen whenever you are exposing it to sunlight to ensure the vibrancy and longevity of your tattoo.
- During healing showers are fine but avoid soaking/submerging your tattoo. Baths, swimming, saunas, hot tubs etc, are a massive no no. These things should be avoided for approximately a month, or when the tattooed skin feels normal to the touch.
